No artist can create anything more beautiful than what is already found in nature. Colors and patterns, shapes and forms originate in the natural world. Nature is abundant with material and matter of all kinds. Through my art, I work to reveal the beauty of nature in new and original ways. As I repurpose wood from old trees, stones and grains of sand, I strive to celebrate and elevate their innate beauty. Additionally, I work with man-made materials that have been thrown away: I recycle wood from old buildings and discarded pieces of metal and glass. My goal as an artist is to encourage people to find the true beauty in materials and objects they may otherwise overlook.
